Born in Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture. Graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, Keio University.
Director of Tokyo Broadcasting System, Inc. Sports Department and Dreamax Television, and representative director of Digital Nine, Monster 9, and Gold Eggs.
After transferring his shares in Gold Eggs Co., Ltd., he is currently the Representative Director of Suscess Co., Ltd.
He is a world-renowned creator of "sports variety" and the spaces he creates, and is introduced in Japan and the United States as a top creator in various genres.
Biography and Personality
Joined TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting System) in 1986.
A true creator of "Kinniku Banzuke," "Sportsman No. 1 Championship," "World Athletics Championships," "SASUKE," and "ZONE."
He has created, produced and produced hit programs such as the "K-1 Series," and has created a new genre called "sports variety" that combines sports and entertainment.
Since 1997, TBS has been broadcasting the World Championships in Athletics. As general director and producer, and with presenters Yuji Oda and Miho Nakai, he established a format for programming and PR that conveyed the appeal of the world's top athletes to viewers in an easy-to-understand way.

From 2000 to 2005, TBS broadcast martial arts shows. In particular, they arranged the match between Akebono and Bob Sapp, which took place as the main event of "Dynamite!" in 2003, and the viewership rating recorded was 43.0%, becoming the first commercial broadcaster to surpass the ratings of "Kohaku."
Since 2005, "SASUKE" has been a huge hit in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and is currently enjoying great success in the United States under the title "NINJA WARRIOR."
It is broadcast in over 150 countries and regions around the world, including the United Kingdom, France, and Italy, the most in the history of a Japanese television program.
Overseas, it is credited as "created by USHIO HIGUCHI."
In 2012, with the theme of "Creating an exciting and fun Japan," the company launched the sports school "Gold School" (soccer, gymnastics, karate, etc.), and currently operates over 18 schools in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, and other areas.
In 2017, he launched a new entertainment project called "KuroOvi" together with Dentsu, and is developing it into a global content.
In 2018, we produced a new park called "Fisher's Park."
Since 2019, the company has been operating the amusement sports club "Ninja☆Park," and as of December 2023, has expanded to 12 stores.
